Claude DeBellefeuille invites Quebecers to support disaster victims in Morocco
Bloc Québécois leader Yves-François Blanchet and Claude DeBellefeuille, MNA for Salaberry-Suroît, invite Quebecers to make a donation to the Red Cross to support those who have, in many cases, lost everything in the aftermath of the earthquake in Morocco.
The people of Morocco are still reeling from the terrible earthquake that claimed thousands of lives on the night of September 8-9.
"The Bloc Québécois knows that many Quebecers want to help those affected, and donations to the Red Cross are an excellent way of doing so. On behalf of the Bloc Québécois and myself, I'd like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all those who can help," concludes Ms. DeBellefeuille.
Mr. Blanchet and Ms. DeBellefeuille have joined forces with the rest of Quebec to express their solidarity with those affected by the disaster, and have launched a social media campaign inviting people to help by making a donation to the Red Cross.
"First of all, we would like to reiterate our deepest sympathy to all those people who have endured distressing hours in the wake of the earthquake, which measured 7 on the Richter scale, making it one of the worst disasters this country has ever seen. Many lives have been lost, and the devastation caused has left survivors in total distress. We are therefore appealing to the generosity of Quebecers to come to their aid, in a gesture of friendship towards the people of Morocco", emphasizes Yves-François Blanc het.
