For 5 weeks from September 25
Aqueduct flushing in Coteau-du-Lac
As of September 25, the City of Coteau-du-Lac will be carrying out a one-way flushing of its water system. This operation will take place from Monday to Thursday, between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. In all, it is expected to take 5 weeks to complete for the entire territory.
Nature of work
The aim is to remove any particles or debris that may form on the walls of the pipes. The City therefore increases water circulation speed and evacuates contaminated water through hydrants. As a result, there may be a slight drop in water pressure, accompanied or not by a reddish discoloration (rust).
The operation may cause a number of inconveniences, including stains on fabrics and crockery. We recommend that you use your washing machine and dishwasher outside the rinse times indicated above.
If the water is rusty
Water remains drinkable despite discoloration. When the water is colored, we recommend opening the cold water tap and letting the water run until it comes clear.
Sectors affected
The operation will be carried out by sector. To find out the order of sectors affected and the scheduled dates of operations for these zones, consult the City's website on the home page under news.
