September 23 at Olympic Park
Inauguration of the Plaza P-Town youth sports facility
On September 23, the Town of Pincourt invites the public to celebrate the inauguration of its new youth sports facility: Plaza P-Town. A colorful program has been prepared.
From 10 a.m. to noon, a skateboarding initiation activity will be led by a specialized instructor, and a BBQ will be offered from noon and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.. There will also be an Olympic-themed competition. The event takes place at Parc Olympique de Pincourt, 375 Cardinal-Léger Blvd. Cardinal-Léger, the site of the new Plaza P-Town.
The new layout was designed by the professionals at Tessier Récréo-Parc, in collaboration with local experts in the extreme sports scene, including Daniel Vezina. The site offers a wide variety of 17 modules, such as quarter-pipes, rails, ramps and jumps for users of all levels.
The pumptrack circuit is perfectly suited to cyclists, rollers and skateboarders, offering a fluid and dynamic course. This new facility will offer Pincourt residents a unique opportunity to practice all sports requiring safe riding (skateboarding, rollerblading, BMX, etc.).
"We were looking for an infrastructure dedicated to the young people of Pincourt, and I believe that this new facility will be a delight for many," said Pincourt mayor Claude Comeau.
The development plan for P-Town Plaza also takes the following factors into account: noise mitigation measures; vegetation and sound screens to limit impacts on neighbouring residences; and no trees cut down to minimize environmental impact. And why not take a stroll on Saturday?
