A new exhibition opening on October 1
Water and its history in the spotlight at the Musée régional de Vaudreuil-Soulanges
On Sunday, October 1, 2023 at 2 p.m., the Musée régional de Vaudreuil-Soulanges invites the general public to the official opening of its bilingual exhibition, Histoires d'eaux.
For the occasion, excerpts from the film Les Rapides du Diable will be presented by its director, filmmaker André Desrochers. Interested parties are invited to reserve their seats for this free activity by filling out the form available on the Museum's website in the Events section.
This exhibition looks at water from a number of angles, from our apprehension of this force of nature to our way of being, thinking, interpreting and using this natural resource, whose preservation has become a crucial issue.
Through the presentation of objects and photographs bearing witness to various historical facts and stories, the exhibition shows how water has played an important role in history and in the evolution of the cultural landscape.
Water, the source of life, tells many stories: that of the origin of the planet and the presence of life on earth, that of the shaping of the landscape over millions of years, and that of our often complex relationship with it.
The territory of Vaudreuil-Soulanges is rich in a diversified hydrographic network made up of a river, large and small rivers, lakes and streams which, for centuries if not millennia, have influenced the way of life of its inhabitants.
The exhibition runs until August 25, 2024.
