The Town plans investments of nearly $14 million in 2024

Saint-Zotique adopts its three-year capital plan 2024-2026

At their council meeting on Tuesday, September 19, Saint-Zotique's elected officials approved the three-year capital plan for the years 2023-2024 and 2025. 

"This document presents the vision of the municipal council and the projects we'd like to carry out over the next few years. It is not definitive, and it may vary depending on the grants we obtain to carry out certain projects. For example, if we don't succeed in obtaining financial assistance, we may postpone the project" explained Mayor Yvon Chiasson at the special meeting of the Saint-Zotique municipal council held at 6:30 pm. 

Jessica Leroux, Director of Finance for the Town of Saint-Zotique, unveiled the projects planned for 2024 and 2025 at the meeting. 

For 2024, a total of $13,953,700 is expected to be invested on municipal territory to bring to fruition projects led by various Town departments. 

Here are the details: 

- Public safety: $540,000;

- Transportation: $4,275,000

- Environmental hygiene: $4,179,100;

- Administration: $2,224,000; 

- Urban planning and development: $0; 

- Recreation $2,528,500;

- Beach $207,000;

According to the municipal administration's estimates, known subsidies applicable to certain projects amount to $1,468,300. Future financing is estimated at $9,613,000, while the use of Surplus and Reserved Funds would be $2,872,400. 

Among the projects the Town wishes to carry out are the following: addition of billboards, paving and reconstruction of the 72nd Avenue storm drainage system, bike lane on Route 338 (Maison des optimistes), repairs to the 26th Avenue bike path, repairs to the sanitary networks in the western sector, upgrades to pumping stations (TECQ), upgrades to water supply networks (TECQ), construction of a service chalet at Quatre-Saisons park, repairs to the pétanque court and landscaping at Quatre-Saisons park, and refreshment of several parks on the territory. 

For 2025, Ville de Saint-Zotique would like to invest $30,576,000 in projects.Here are the estimates in the ITP:- Public safety: $0; 

- Transportation: $21,469,000; 

- Environmental hygiene: $8,592,000; 

- Administration: $110,000; 

- Urban planning and development: $50,000; 

- Recreation: $105,000; 

- Beach: $250,000. 

- Known subsidies applicable to certain projects: $0; 

- Future financing: $29,991,000; 

- Use of Surplus and Reserved Funds: $585,000.

For 2025, Ville de Saint-Zotique would like to invest $30,576,000 in projects.

Here are the estimates in the ITP: 

- Public safety: $0; 

- Transportation: $21,469,000;

- Environmental hygiene: $8,592,000; 

- Administration: $110,000;

- Urban planning and development: $50,000;

- Recreation: $105,000;

- Beach: $250,000.
