Over 100 kilos of waste removed from Charlot Woods in Vaudreuil-Dorion
In honor of World Cleanup Day, OLA Bamboo organized a cleanup in a Vaudreuil-Dorion woodland adjacent to Harwood Elementary School. Thanks to the mobilization of volunteers and the community, over 100 kilos of waste were collected.
In recognition of their contribution, a donation of 20 trees and 40 OLA Cycle toothbrushes was handed out among the participants.
100 kilos of waste collected
The event, which took place under clear skies, saw the participation of many local residents united for the environmental cause. Together, they scoured the woodland, collecting abandoned garbage ranging from plastic packaging to electronic waste, with the aim of restoring the natural beauty of the site.
"It's very important to us to reduce our carbon footprint and help the health of our beautiful planet. Since the start of our entrepreneurial adventure, over 2,000 trees have been planted in Quebec" says Simon-Pier Ouellette, co-owner of OLA Bamboo.
A real desire to have a significant impact on the environment
With its eco-responsible products, the company is already at the forefront of the fight against plastic waste, thanks to the circular economy at the heart of their manufacturing process.
"When the Solutions M agency suggested this initiative, it was only natural for us to accept and jump in with both feet. Who knows, maybe we'll keep the momentum going with an annual event " concludes Simon-Pier Ouellette, co-president of OLA Bamboo.
