Over 3,000 festival-goers took to the streets of L'Île-Perrot for the 11th edition of VIP en Blues on September 16. The event was once again a resounding success, with record attendance thanks to a diversified gourmet street, colorful family entertainment and highly talented musical groups.

From 3 p.m. onwards, the aroma of sweets and grilled meats filled the air at Parc des Générations. Gastronomic offerings were inspired by the four corners of the globe, from Caribbean cuisine to Lebanese dishes, including classics from Romania and China.

Visitors were also amazed by the visit of original characters. Impressive stilt-walkers dressed as flowers twirled through the crowd, and none other than a robot from the Transformers series was on hand.

At 4 p.m., Violon Dingue put on a fun and danceable show.

For the love of the blues

The event was masterfully hosted by blues expert and radio music columnist Martin Lachance.

The talented line-up included The March Blues Project, Mike Deway, Justin Saladino Band, Hommage à Stevie Ray Vaughan and Dawn Tyler Watson.

The mayor of L'Île-Perrot commented: "I'm very proud of the 11th edition of VIP en Blues. The town put together an impeccable musical program in a dynamic, well-crafted event for young and old alike. The marquee event reached the zenith of blues and all that surrounds it. See you next year!"

The Town also acknowledges the support of its sponsors, including Caisse Desjardins de Vaudreuil-Soulanges (Gold), Sanivac and Lagacé Électrique (Silver), as well as Perodam, Microbrasserie Trois-Lacs, Vergers Labonté and Europe-Deli (Bronze).

Richard Dubois, Director of Communications and Community Life at Caisse Desjardins de Vaudreuil-Soulanges, commented: "Caisse Desjardins de Vaudreuil-Soulanges is delighted to support culture in the region. The vitality of our municipalities relies on activities such as VIP en Blues, so congratulations to everyone for this great edition!"
