Survey
In your opinion, what type of immigration should be prioritized?
A Léger survey* commissioned last May by Le Journal de Montréal/de Québec, to shed light on perceptions of immigration and migration policies in Quebec and Canada, revealed that 41% of the Quebec population felt that the province should welcome fewer immigrants.
The same survey also showed that 70% of Quebecers consider immigration to be an effective solution to the labour shortage, and 60% believe it to be a good solution to the aging population.
We can also welcome immigrants for other reasons. Humanism, for example, as in the case of refugees. Or to encourage family reunification. Welcoming foreign students can turn into eventual immigration.
