Territorial partnership agreement for arts and letters
2,294,200 for culture in Montérégie
On Monday, September 11, the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec and its many partners announced the signing of the Entente de partenariat territorial pour les arts et les lettres en Montérégie.
CALQ's collaborators include the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l'Habitation (MAMH), the Conseil des Arts et de la Culture de Vaudreuil-Soulanges, the Table de concertation régionale de la Montérégie and the MRCs of Beauharnois-Salaberry and Vaudreuil-Soulanges.
"I salute the unwavering commitment of the partners who are joining CALQ to give a boost to artists and organizations in the Montérégie. I'm particularly delighted by the impact of the previous agreement on the community and beyond, and I'm convinced that I'll be discovering new, absolutely extraordinary works from this partnership in the years to come" says Anne-Marie Jean, President and CEO of CALQ.
Under the terms of the agreement, the partners have invested a total of $2,294,200, including $1,103,000 from CALQ, $639,700 from MAMH as part of the Fonds régions et ruralité's Soutien au rayonnement des régions program, and $551,500 from regional authorities.
"I congratulate all our partners, who work in synergy to support our local artists. They spread the beauty of our magnificent region, making us even prouder of the Montérégie. Through this agreement, we will further stimulate creation to highlight the exceptional talent of our artists and promote it throughout Quebec and beyond its borders," adds Suzanne Roy, Minister responsible for the Montérégie region.
This funding, spread over three years (2023-2026), will ensure the implementation of territorial partnership programs for the development of the arts and literature in Montérégie-Est, Montérégie-Ouest and the agglomeration of Longueuil, enabling the support of creation, production or dissemination projects promoting links between the arts and the community.

The renewal of this agreement recognizes the fundamental contribution of our artists and writers to the development and influence of our region.The Table de concertation régionale de la Montérégie is particularly proud to contribute once again to this agreement, in order to support the cultural organizations in our communities and thus promote the growth and dissemination of artistic and literary works in our territory," comments Catherine Fournier, President of the Table de concertation des préfets de la Montérégie and President of the Executive Committee of the Longueuil agglomeration.

Territorial Partnership Program for the Development of the Arts and Humanities in Montérégie
Managed by the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, this program aims to stimulate artistic creation in the region, contribute to the development and dissemination of artists and writers, encourage their retention in their locality, and foster the emergence and inclusion of digital technologies in artistic practice.
It also aims to support professional arts organizations structuring the development and influence of the arts and letters in the region and beyond.
Culture Montérégie is responsible for promoting the agreement and calls for projects, and provides support to artists, writers and arts organizations wishing to submit an application. A call for projects is underway for each of the Montérégie-Est, Montérégie-Ouest and Longueuil agglomeration territories.
