In Vaudreuil-Dorion
Opening of the Errance performing arts festival
Today, September 8, marks the opening of the second edition of Vaudreuil-Dorion's festival d'arts vivants, Errance.
This Friday and Saturday, the public is invited to visit the Esther-Blondin, Le 405, Paul-Gérin-Lajoie and Maison-Valois parks as they come alive.
The term "live arts" refers to any form of artistic expression involving a presentation by an artist to an audience.
In all, some twenty performances will be offered, plus a closing show featuring numerous artists. Dance, song, theater, puppetry, storytelling, music, poetry, circus and more are on the program.
"Errances invites spectators to witness surprising artistic performances from all horizons. It's a completely different event from what we usually offer our citizens. For this second edition, we've chosen to take over four municipal parks on the shores of Vaudreuil Bay, allowing people to move easily and safely from one place to another," explains Chloé Marcil, Head of Culture and Community Life at the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion.
To set up this living arts festival, the city has enlisted the services of Thomas Duret as independent curator. Artist Tina Marais has also been commissioned to create the event's scenography.
A bar and food service will be available at Le 405 park for the duration of the festival. Although seating will be available in the parks, visitors are invited to bring their own chairs to ensure comfort during the performances.
The schedule and details of this free event are available on the city's website (ville.vaudreuil-dorion.qc.ca).
In case of inclement weather, please call 450 424-8502 to make sure the event can take place.
