Heat warning for the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region
Over the past few days, Environment Canada has issued a weather alert for the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region. According to the weather forecasting agency, a warm air mass is currently affecting a large part of the province. This will remain in place until Wednesday.
As a result, Monday to Wednesday will be particularly hot, with temperatures likely to exceed 30 degrees Celsius and humidex values ranging from 36 to 42.
These hot temperatures could even persist on Thursday and Friday in the southernmost parts of Quebec. The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, the elderly, people with chronic illnesses and those who work or exercise outdoors.
It is recommended to drink plenty of water, even before feeling thirsty, and to keep cool. The population of this region is invited to reduce heat-related risks, in particular by organizing outdoor activities during the cooler hours of the day.
