Raise a glass for a Quebec food bank
Requests for food aid continue to rise, notably due to inflation, and with the back-to-school season in full swing, the Banques alimentaires du Québec (BAQ) need your help.
That's why, until September 6, a new campaign will be rolled out across the branch network. During this period, every SAQ customer, and all Quebecers, are invited to support the BAQs in one of the 400 or so stores or online.
4 simple ways to contribute:
- Buy a Quebec product, and the SAQ will donate the equivalent of a meal to the BAQ;
- Make a donation at the checkout in store;
- Contribute online via the Quebec Food Banks website;
- And, as is the case at all times, purchase a packaging product in the SAQ colors, and a portion of the profits will be donated directly to the BAQ.
Involvement of SAQ branch employees - A guarantee of success
"I am delighted to continue the historic commitment that the SAQ has made to BAQ for over 14 years now. I join all employees in continuing to support our corporate cause. For me, it is inconceivable that people will be living with food insecurity in 2023. With the passion that drives all our in-store teams, I'm convinced we can make a difference and help thousands of Quebecers," says Jacques Farcy, President and CEO of the SAQ.
Invaluable help for BAQs
"Year after year, we know we can count on committed partners like the SAQ, its employees and its customers. The issue of food insecurity is very present in the province. With the involvement of the employees of the SAQ's 400 stores, we are able to have a positive impact in every Moissons across Quebec. Thank you to our customers and to Quebecers for being so generous campaign after campaign," added Martin Munger, General Manager of the BAQ.
