Coach "Preg" will also remain involved with the local team
Involved with the Soulanges Pionniers, he joins the Alexandria Glens in the EOJHL
The Soulanges High School Pionniers organization congratulates Michael Prégent on his appointment as head coach of the EOJHL's Alexandria Glens.
Mr. Prégent is a field hockey fanatic. He has a wealth of experience in the sport, which he has been playing for as long as he can remember. He has played for a number of teams, from the Valleyfield Braves to the North American league, via Toulouse-Blagnac in France.
He joined the organization in 2019 as head coach of the U18 team. He brought his experience and expertise to the Pioneer program. He quickly inspired the young field hockey players of Soulanges. In his first season at the helm of the U18 D3 team, he won the season championship in 2021-22. The following season, the team finished in 2nd place with only one loss on its record. The team also took top honors at the Sherbrooke tournament during that campaign. According to the players, Mr. Prégent brought a professional side to the program, was involved in player development and helped players reach the next level (Junior Ontario, LJAAAQ and Cégep).
The program's general manager had a few words to say to the main person involved:
We thank Michael for his involvement in the program and wish him all the best in his new role as head coach. It's important to note, however, that Michael remains a full member of the Pioneer program, where he will serve as Assistant Coordinator and Director of Communications. Thank you Coach "Preg".
