Are you worried about the lack of teachers in our schools?
With just a few days to go before the start of the new school year, nearly forty positions are still to be filled on the teaching staff of the Centre de services scolaires des Trois-Lacs (CSSTL).
As a result, groups of students could well find themselves without a teacher. In fact, Education Minister Bernard Drainville issued a call for help last week, asking retired teachers to come forward and lend a hand in Quebec schools.
"We're still looking for people to fill certain positions. The situation is similar to that at this time last year. Positions are being filled on a daily basis, and every effort is being made to ensure that as many staff as possible are in our schools for the start of the new school year," explains Alexandra Desrochers, Communications Manager at the CSSTL.
As for school transport, the CSSTL confirms that there are still a few routes to be filled. "We're confident that they'll all be filled by the start of the new school year, based on the information provided by our transporters," stressed Ms. Desrochers.
