The sixth edition of Expo-Champs Bio arrives at Tourne-Sol Cooperative Farm
On Sunday, September 3, producers who practice ecological and small-scale agriculture, as well as members of the public curious to learn more about the subject, are invited to the Tourne-Sol Cooperative Farm in Les Cèdres. The sixth edition of Expo-Champs Bio will be held on site.
This is the largest agricultural event in Quebec devoted to ecological local agriculture.
This annual event offers participants field demonstrations, conferences, applied experiments and farm equipment displays based on the specialties of the host farm.
The Tourne-Sol Cooperative Farm is renowned for its organic seed production, mechanization, sound management and the quality of life of its members.
"We want to offer this year's participants an opportunity to exchange ideas and network with an experienced farm that is recognized as being at the heart of innovation in the field of local ecological agriculture. Through its expertise, the Tourne-sol Cooperative farm is a source of inspiration for us all," says Émilie Viau-Drouin, General Manager of the Coopérative pour l'agriculture de proximité écologique.
The Expo-Champs Bio is also a time for local farmers to get together and discuss the challenges of the current season, their successes and future projects.
"One of the strengths of our form of agriculture is the wealth of relationships based on mutual support and sharing. Thanks to this wonderful collaboration, we overcome challenges together and emerge even stronger," explains Léon Bibeau-Mercier, President of the Coopérative pour l'agriculture proximité écologique.
To celebrate the uniqueness of this farm, participants will be able to enjoy local flavors with the Hub de Vaudreuil-Dorion rolling farmer's market, local meals from La Bohème Foodtruck and a concert by the group Jugband Trio.
