In support of cancer research
Fundraising event to be held this Sunday in Vaudreuil-Dorion
The Cité-des-Jeunes campus will welcome hundreds of walkers and cyclists this Sunday, August 20, as part of the Weekend to Fight Cancer event benefiting the JGH Foundation.
The event runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be plenty of entertainment on site.
Cyclists and walkers will mainly be using sidewalks and bike lanes on municipal territory. Road users should therefore exercise caution.
For the 6 km walk, participants will take Paul Gérin-Lajoie, Ouimet, Leclerc, Montcalm, Briand, Lafleur, Chemin des Chenaux, Saint-Michel, Louise-Josepthe, Léger and Avenue Saint-Charles to the start and finish points.
The 10 km route follows much the same streets: Paul Gérin-Lajoie, Ouimet, Leclerc, Montcalm, Briand, Forbes, Pinault, Lartigue, Briand, Cité-des-Jeunes, Durocher, Bourget, Lafleur, Dutrisac, Lavoie, Avenue de la Canardière, des Sarcelles, Cité-des-Jeunes, Chemin des Chenaux, Saint-Michel, Louise-Josepthe, Léger then Avenue Saint-Charles to the start/finish point.
The event raises funds to support vital cancer research, exceptional care and cutting-edge innovation in Quebec. Since 2009, participants, supporters and sponsors have raised more than $62 million at fundraising events like this one, making a huge difference in the fight against cancer at the JGH.
