On Saturday August 12, the Municipality of Saint-Polycarpe officially opened two new recreational facilities at Parc Rémi-Gauthier, located next to the Centre sportif Soulanges.

Prior to these additions, the green space already boasted a soccer field, two junior soccer fields, two beach volleyball courts, a ball field with lighting, a petanque court with lighting, an outdoor skating rink with lighting, a croquet chalet and play modules for children aged 0 to 5 and 5 to 12.

A new water feature and an active trail have also been added. "It was a memorable day of joy and camaraderie as we celebrated the official opening of these two facilities in the heart of our municipality. Families, friends and neighbors gathered to take part in this convivial event. The laughter of children running through the colorful water jets brought the newly inaugurated water play to life, while citizens explored the active trail, embarking on an adventure full of energy and excitement," summarizes Recreation and Communications Director Jade Laforce-Steben in an e-mail to Neomedia.

The budget for the water features is $410,000, while that for the active trail is $365,000.

She adds that "the inauguration was marked by an inspiring speech, underlining our community's commitment to well-being, health and social rapprochement. Projects like the water play and active trail are not just infrastructure, but spaces for meeting and sharing that strengthen bonds between generations and individuals."

She also addressed the citizens with the following words:

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who have contributed to the realization of these wonderful additions to our municipality, be it the members of the municipal council, committed volunteers, local partners and of course, our valued citizens. Your unwavering support and enthusiasm have made these ambitious projects a reality.

The Municipality of Saint-Polycarpe is proud to continue to offer recreational and social opportunities for all members of our community. We hope that the water playground and active trail will become places of joy and gathering for years to come.

We thank you for your continued support and look forward to seeing you at our upcoming community events.

Parc Rémi-Gauthier is open daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Both facilities are open at all times.
