Between August 18 and August 26
Four upcoming blood drives in Vaudreuil-Soulanges
Over the next few days, four blood drives will be held in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC. They will take place in Saint-Clet, Terrasse-Vaudreuil, Vaudreuil-Dorion and Saint-Lazare, and interested donors can already book their appointments.
Héma-Québec invites blood donors to remain mobilized for those who need their generosity to regain their health.
Here are the upcoming blood drives in the region:
1) Friday, August 18: Saint-Clet Community Center (4 rue du Moulin) from 1:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Target: 60 donations;
2) Wednesday, August 23: Terrasse-Vaudreuil Community Center (74, 7th Avenue) from 1:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Target 50 donations;
3) Friday August 25: Opti-Centre Saint-Jean-Baptiste (145 Bd Harwood, Vaudreuil-Dorion) from 1pm to 7pm. Goal of 60 donations;
4) Saturday, August 26: Community Center (1301 Rue du Bois) from 9am to 3pm. Target of 60 donations.
A crying need
The summer vacations, combined with the fact that the number of new blood donors dropped significantly during the pandemic, are all reasons for Héma-Québec to remind people of the importance of giving blood.
To make an appointment before coming to a blood drive, simply create or consult your profile at jedonne.hema-quebec.qc.ca and reserve a time slot, or call 1 800 343-7264 (SANG).
Anyone who comes across a blood drive or donor center and has time to donate is also invited to drop by and see if the teams in place are able to accommodate them.
Who can donate blood?
Anyone in good health, aged 18 or over, is generally eligible to donate blood. Before coming to a blood drive, you can check your eligibility by contacting Donor Services at 1 800 847-2525, or by visiting the Héma-Québec website at www.hema-quebec.qc.ca, section Donors > Blood > Can I donate?
