The Accès-Loisirs Vaudreuil-Soulanges program is marking the start of the new school year with new registration dates for the fall session, offering children, adults and seniors from low-income families free places on sports, cultural and outdoor activities.

Those wishing to register for the program are invited to visit www.accesloisirsvs.ca to create an account and submit the necessary documents before September 6. Thereafter, families with an account will be able to consult the list of activities on offer and take advantage of online registration, which will be open from Saturday, September 9 at 9 a.m. to Tuesday, September 12 at 4 p.m.

Although online registration is preferred, eligible citizens can still register by telephone on Saturday, September 9, between 9 a.m. and noon, or schedule a registration appointment in person by contacting the Maison de la Famille Vaudreuil-Soulanges at 450 217-2177, ext. 1.

To be eligible, family income before taxes must be less than or equal to the threshold indicated below, depending on the number of people in the family:

- 1 person: $27,514;

- 2 persons: $34,254;

- 3 persons: $42,111

- 4 persons: $51,128;

- 5 persons: $57,989;

- 6 people: $65,401;

- 7 people or more: $72,814.

Proof of income (federal or provincial notice of assessment for 2021 or claims booklet for income security recipients) and proof of residence with address (driver's license, tax bill, recent bill) are required at the time of registration.

Accès-Loisirs Vaudreuil-Soulanges program

Inspired by a model already implemented in several regions of Quebec, the Accès-Loisirs Vaudreuil-Soulanges program, in collaboration with the Maison de la Famille Vaudreuil-Soulanges, collects places in activities offered by sports, cultural and recreational organizations that spontaneously agree to donate places in their activities, or to offer places that were not filled during their registration period.

These places then become available to all those eligible for the Accès-Loisirs Vaudreuil-Soulanges program. The latest figures from the Direction de santé publique indicate that over 6,000 Vaudreuil-Soulanges residents are currently living below the low-income threshold. Whether for families or individuals, taking part in sports, cultural or outdoor activities helps to socialize, break isolation and develop skills that enhance the quality of life of citizens and the dynamism of our communities.

For more information on this program, please contact the Maison de la Famille de Vaudreuil-Soulanges at 450 217-2177, ext. 1. Recreation providers wishing to offer free places at their activities can contact the Maison de la Famille de Vaudreuil-Soulanges at accesloisirsv [email protected].
