Montreal-bound
Heavy congestion on Highway 20 in Vaudreuil-Dorion
This weekend's work on the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge on Highway 40 in Vaudreuil-Dorion is having repercussions all the way to Highway 20, which passes through Vaudreuil-Dorion and Île-Perrot.
At the time of writing, on the afternoon of Saturday August 12, congestion on Highway 20 was heavy. At the time of Néomédia's visit, the traffic jam was beginning at Route Harwood, less than 1 km from the Sûreté du Québec police station on the boulevard of the same name.
The Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité is carrying out maintenance work on the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge, which will further impede traffic this weekend. Until Monday morning, two lanes will be available towards Vaudreuil-Dorion and one towards Montreal.
Police officers are on hand at two key intersections on Harwood Boulevard, Saint-Henri and Saint-Charles, to ease traffic congestion in the area.
For its part, the MTQ is planning work tomorrow evening, from 11.30pm to 5am, on autoroute 40 in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, between exit 41 and the entrance to boulevard des Anciens-Combattants. The detour will be via the service road.
