On August 30, he will publish part 2 of his first novel, Entre le Lys et le lion
A second novel in four months for author Érik Leduc
On May 3, Vaudreuil-Dorion resident Érik Leduc announced the release of his first career novel, Entre le lys et le lion. Almost four months later, on August 30, he will publish the sequel to the adventures of Akian, the young Abenaki he imagined in the days of New France in 1689.
In this latest installment of Akian's adventures, the young man continues his quest to avenge his family, decimated by the Iroquois, and rescue the beautiful Alouki, taken prisoner during the raid on his community.
As the conflict between the Canadians and the English reaches its climax, Akian once again finds himself at the heart of the action. These battles lead him to reflect on his duty and his oath, but also to question certain resentments.
Sometimes side by side, sometimes back to back, Pierre Le Moyne and Akian, Assouak's son, gave up nothing. Finally united by their need for vengeance against their common enemy, they flew their weapons in a macabre ballet. They fought with unstoppable skill. Saber and tomahawk were brought down, enemy soldiers falling one by one.
Along the way, he will also find love where he least expected it...
Hurtubise describes the book as "a true adventure novel, this action-packed story focuses on military strategy and the great outdoors, bringing a breath of fresh air to the historical fiction genre. The epic battles only give way to great reflections that lead us, even today, to see our history in a new light".
Erik Leduc has always been a history buff. This former lawyer devotes much of his spare time to learning about and writing about the subject that fascinates him. His aim is to help readers discover the lives of the heroes who have marked our history.
