Call for projects for the 2023-2024 edition of Des ponts culturels, d'une rive à l'autre initiative
Thursday, August 10 saw the opening of the call for projects from artists, arts organizations and collectives for the Conseil des arts de Montréal's Des ponts culturels, d'une rive à l'autre program.
The Des ponts culturels, d'une rive à l'autre program was created by the Conseil des arts de Montréal (CAM) in collaboration with the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ), the Conseil des arts de Longueuil (CAL), the Conseil des arts et de la culture de Vaudreuil-Soulanges (CACVS), and the cities of Laval, Longueuil and Terrebonne.
Des ponts culturels, d'une rive à l'autre is a unifying program in which artists draw their inspiration from a process of co-creation with citizens. The program thus fosters a promising relationship between creators and citizens of the City of Montreal and other municipalities in the Montreal metropolitan region.
The CACVS's collaboration with the Des ponts culturels, d'une rive à l'autre program has proved to be very fruitful. Since 2019, 8 artistic projects have been launched, 7 in Vaudreuil-Soulanges and one on the island of Montreal.
These projects include
- Projet Archipel - Canal de Soulanges (2019);
- La danse des mains (2019);
- Moi j'ai un ami blanc (2020:
- Au fil de l'esquisse (2021);
- Les femmes se ménagent (2022);
- Chansons pour leurs mères (2023);
- Léonise Valois, une histoire vraie, réinventée (2023);
Grants to selected artists and collectives
A grant totaling a maximum of $25,000 will be announced, of which $10,000 will be provided by CALQ and a maximum of $15,000 by the CAM or partner municipality.
This grant will be used to pay artists and production-related costs such as transportation, per diems and other variable expenses directly related to the project.
Projects will be documented (production and editing) throughout the co-creation process and at the final presentation, by a video artist. This video will be financially supported by CALQ and CAM.
