Traffic will return to normal on Monday, August 14 at 5 a.m.
One lane open towards Montreal on the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge this weekend
The ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable wishes to inform the public that continued maintenance work on the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge will result in additional traffic congestion over the weekend of August 11 to 14.
From Friday evening to Monday morning, two lanes will be available towards Vaudreuil-Dorion and one towards Montreal.
Traffic management
On Highway 40, between Vaudreuil-Dorion and Senneville:
- From Friday, August 11, 10 p.m. to Monday, August 14, 5 a.m.: two westbound lanes (towards Vaudreuil-Dorion) and one eastbound lane (towards Montreal) maintained;
- From 5 a.m. on Monday, August 14: two lanes in each direction;
Episodes of congestion are to be expected. A police presence, increased signage and coordination with other nearby worksites are planned to limit the impact on traffic, but the Ministry recommends that road users who will have to travel in the area allow extra time to reach their destination.
This hindrance, required for the concreting of edge beams, could be cancelled due to unfavorable weather conditions or operational constraints. Therefore, before taking to the road, we recommend that you consult Québec 511, a practical tool to help you plan your travel.
The Ministry thanks road users for their cooperation.For the safety of road users and workers alike, it is essential to respect existing signage.
