The Marché des Saveurs de l'île moves to Carrefour Notre-Dame this Sunday
This Sunday, August 13, residents of Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot and surrounding areas are invited to a very special Marché des Saveurs de l'île. Held as part of Semaine québécoise des marchés publics, it will take place at Carrefour Notre-Dame, 1300 boulevard Don-Quichotte.
Every year, the Marché des Saveurs de l'Île makes a point of taking part in this provincial initiative, in order to promote the region's artisans and producers to as many interested citizens as possible.
Regulars of the event, which takes place every week during the summer season and until September at Parc des Générations in L'Île-Perrot, won't be out of place this Sunday when they drop in.
"It's pretty much the same formula, but a few artisans have been added to the regulars. This Sunday, for example, you'll be able to buy items made from wood, or soaps produced by a soap maker. The Le Tournant organization, a well-known suicide prevention and crisis center in the region, will also be among the exhibitors present", explains Lise-Anne Briand, the instigator of this special edition of the Marché des Saveurs de l'île.
For the younger set, make-up artist Stéphanie Bacon will be on hand to add some color to their faces. On the entertainment front, the trio Atmosphérique MMC will be on hand between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to set the musical mood.
"It'll be a great opportunity to buy fresh or processed products, and meet local merchants and processors to talk with them or simply discover their inventories. Come and see us in large numbers," she concludes in an inviting tone.
