At 11pm on Monday August 7, Saint-Polycarpe and Saint-Télesphore firefighters were called to Chemin Saint-Georges to extinguish a vehicle fire. After checking, Sûreté du Québec officers found that the pickup had been reported stolen by their colleagues from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

"No injuries were reported in this incident, as no one was at the scene. The investigation is continuing and, for the moment, no arrests have been made," confirms Valérie Beauchamp, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.

Many vehicles stolen in Ontario pass through the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region on a daily basis on their way to other areas.
