As part of the 15th edition of Quebec Public Markets Week
Two special events at the Marché des saveurs de l'île this week
The Marché des saveurs de l'île is taking part in the 15th edition of Quebec's Semaine des marchés publics. This initiative of the Association des marchés publics du Québec (AMPQ) celebrates the contribution of over 150 public markets across Quebec to local food and the promotion of agricultural producers and bio-food artisans.
For a sixth year, Julie Aubé, author, gourmet nutritionist and creator of the Prenez le champ events, is the event's spokesperson.
"When the season arrives and all the public markets in Quebec are in operation, it's a joy! The joy of sourcing fresh local produce. It's a chance to reconnect with the richness of our regions and our producers. Farmer's markets are also an opportunity for generous encounters. To forge links with those who produce our food. To associate stories and faces with them. To reconnect with our food, with what we put on our plates," said Aubé.
For the occasion, Le marché des saveurs de l'île will hold two special activities:
- Wednesday, August 9 - Summer Market - 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. - Parc des Générations (150 boulevard Perrot)
Free corn roast from 4 to 6 p.m.
Music with Duo Stéphanie et Serge.
- Sunday, August 13 - Special market 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Carrefour Notre-Dame-de-L'Île-Perrot (1300 boulevard Don Quichotte).
Professional face painting for children.
Music with Groupe Atmosphérique MMC.
