Seven sports idols join forces to benefit the Suroît Hospital Foundation
This Sunday, August 6, the Fondation de l'Hôpital du Suroît is inviting interested parties to the Cégep de Valleyfield soccer field to meet their sports idols. The event is organized to benefit the organization.
The signing and photo session is organized by Sébastien Behnan, medical imaging technologist at Hôpital du Suroît. Passionate about sports, Sébastien invites young and old to a family activity where renowned athletes will be available for autographs and photo opportunities.
Au Cœur du Sport is an event organized by Sébastien Behnan, a healthcare professional working at Hôpital du Suroît. A sports enthusiast from an early age, Sébastien Behnan is a radiodiagnostic technologist at Hôpital du Suroît.
Involved with the Suroît Hospital Foundation for many years, he organized a friendly field hockey match against the Montreal Canadiens in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, to benefit the organization.
The event will take place on August 6 from noon to 4 p.m. on the Cégep de Valleyfield soccer field. The signing and photo session will take place from 1pm to 2pm.
Presentation of the athletes present:
1) Francis Bouillon: Ice field hockey player with the Montreal Canadiens. In his career, he played 776 games in the NHL, collecting 149 points and 536 penalty minutes. He played in 55 playoff games, scoring 11 points.
2) Maxime Latour: Campivallensian, he is a professional soccer player with the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He has won two Grey Cups.
3) Paul Lambert: He played 10 seasons in the Canadian Football League with Hamilton and Montreal. He was part of the Alouettes squad for the last two Grey Cup victories, in 2009 and 2010.
4) Arnaud Dumouchel-Gendron: The former Black and Gold player from Collège de Valleyfield is an offensive lineman who continued his career with the Université de Montréal Carabins, in addition to impressing at the Canadian Football League (CFL) national evaluation camp.
5) Pierre Plante: Born May 14, 1951, in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, he is a Canadian ice hockey player who played right wing. He played for the Quebec Nordiques, St. Louis Blues and New York Rangers.
6) Patrick Lavoie: Second-round pick of the Montreal Alouettes in 2012, he was drafted in the expansion draft two years later. He lifted the Grey Cup in 2016 with the Ottawa Rouge et Noir. After a year with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2018, he concluded his Canadian Football League career, playing four games with the Toronto Argonauts in 2021.
7) Francis Lafrenière: Professional boxer who won the following titles: CPBC and NCC Canadian Champion, IBF International Champion and WBO-NABO Champion.
