Help Pointe-Fortune realize its edible planting project

The Municipality of Pointe-Fortune invites the public to vote for its project: Planting edible plants, as part of the Jardin dans ma vie contest. 

In 2022, the municipality began work on a new park at 129, rue Réal-Larocque. A master plan was created to guide the park's development.

Last fall, a pathway and landscaping were completed. This spring, street furniture, two benches, a picnic table and a multi-purpose garbage can were installed. In addition, an area with a children's play structure has been added.

The next step in making the park more attractive is the planting of five groves of three to four multiple fruit trees. This multiplicity will enable the cross-pollination necessary for fruit production.

Descriptive signs explaining the history of each type of fruit, its optimum harvesting time and its processing and preservation methods will provide an educational edge for all.

These areas of discovery, learning and abundance will enable the municipality to distinguish itself through its avant-garde projects, while at the same time bringing a high degree of social acceptability and a sense of belonging to its citizens.

Finally, through this project, the municipality wishes to offer a certain food security for all.
