Pesticides: Pincourt revises its regulations
Since June 1, a new by-law has been in force concerning the use of pesticides on the territory of the Town of Pincourt.
In fact, by-law 925 stipulates that the use of pesticides is prohibited outside buildings, with the exception of low-impact pesticides such as borax or insecticidal soap, which do not require a permit.
The use of synthetic pesticides is prohibited at all times, as they are harmful to health and the environment.
Before proceeding with a lawn treatment or extermination through a contractor, citizens are invited to check the following points:
- Is the contractor registered with the city?
- What are the active ingredients in the products used?
- Does the applicator wear safety equipment?
- What measures must be taken to protect your family and pets?
- What are the environmental and health risks?
For more information and to consult the new by-law, visit the City's website, Pesticides section.
