Les Coteaux
Rue Lippé: The Ministry's report is still awaited
Residents of the Lippé Street area in Les Coteaux are still not out of pain, as no reopening of the road is expected in the near future.
In a communication sent to Néomédia, the municipality's communications coordinator, Geneviève Juillet, confirmed that the report from the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable (MTDD) was still pending, and could take several weeks to be submitted.
She assures us, however, that the measures put in place to ensure safety are adequate, according to the confirmations received from MTDD and the Ministère de la Sécurité civile.
On July 15, a section of Lippé Street collapsed near the civic number 8, and the road has since been closed to traffic between Sauvé Street in the Municipalité des Coteaux and the route 340 in Saint-Polycarpe.
"We need to hire an engineering firm to remove the contaminated material and stabilize the embankment. The next step will be to rebuild or relocate the road," explains Ms. Juillet.
"We take this opportunity to reiterate that it is not possible to take Lippé Street to get to Saint-Polycarpe. For safety reasons, road users (car, bike and pedestrian) must use Delisle Street," concludes Ms. Juillet.
