Yes, dogs should be more welcome in public places
In many countries and other Canadian provinces, including New Brunswick, the United States and Europe, dogs are generally well accepted in shops and restaurants.
In Quebec, although a few places accept them, it seems to be a little more difficult to bring Fido with us on our excursions.
Given the recent heatwaves and the fact that, despite constant reminders, dogs are still sometimes left in cars, Néomédia wondered about the accessibility of public places with pets.
This inspired us to ask the question of the week: In heatwave conditions, should dogs be allowed in certain shops?
Many of you responded, and 37.3% of respondents felt that pets should be allowed in certain stores at all times, not just during heatwaves.
A further 6.8% said they agreed, but not in grocery stores or restaurants, while another 6.8% were in favor of giving pets access to businesses, but only during heatwaves.
On the other side of the spectrum, 27.1% totally disagreed, and 22% felt that a dog's place is not in a shop.
