The "Contamination Culturelle" exhibition opens at two new sites
The traveling exhibition, "Contamination culturelle", continues to tour the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region. Since July 16, you can discover the works of some 20 local artists at Pointe-des-Cascades or Pointe-Fortune, depending on the tour you choose.
Born as a spontaneous response to the pandemic, "Contamination Culturelle" is a unique artistic approach to democratizing art by exhibiting works in outdoor public spaces.
Between now and November, the exhibition, which unfurls in three circuits, will stop in 14 of the 23 municipalities of Vaudreuil-Soulanges.
Gathered under the theme "Éléments Terre", the works are part of a dynamic process of weaving together citizens and the territory's natural and cultural resources.
More specifically, it is by highlighting three distinctive elements of this vast region - air, water and earth - that the artists have addressed their relationship to place, space, people and the living.
The works presented honor the specific characteristics of the region, and offer an opportunity to discover the geographic and societal personality of the territories visited.
Two routes to discover
Set up in Pointe-des-Cascades until August 13, the "Des Berges" tour features works by Johanne Mitchell, Éric Simon, Louise Page, Ghyslaine Payant, Pat Walsh, Michel Sauvé, Claude H. Vallée, Valérie Langlais, Deirdre Potash and Line Desrochers.
The exhibition will continue its journey to Les Coteaux, Saint-Télesphore and the Ville de L'Île-Perrot over the coming months.
In Pointe-Fortune, works by Alain Martel, Lilianne Pilon, Mélanie Mallette, Tina Marais, Karine Dagenais, Agnès Robin, Karine Giguère, Francine Vernac, Réjean Lacroix and Sébastien Michaud are brought together under the theme: "Des Collines".
The municipalities of Très-Saint-Rédempteur, Rigaud and Saint-Clet will also receive works between August and November.
