Programme d'infrastructures municipales d'eau
1.9 M$ for the Municipalité des Coteaux
The MNA for Soulanges, Marilyne Picard, announced on Tuesday that $1,925,221 in funding from the Programme d'infrastructures municipales d'eau (PRIMEAU) 2023 has been granted to the Municipality of Les Coteaux for water infrastructure work.
"We are very pleased to be able to carry out the project to replace and rehabilitate the water and sewer mains thanks to the financial assistance provided by PRIMEAU 2023. The work planned in the northern sector of the municipality will meet a pressing need without placing the entire tax burden on the shoulders of residents," said Sylvain Brazeau, the municipality's mayor.
The new infrastructure will ensure a more reliable water supply, help preserve the environment and prevent water system problems.
The Municipality plans to renew or rehabilitate 774 metres of water mains under Delisle and Pauline streets. The work, which will affect drinking water, wastewater and stormwater pipes, will ensure that municipal services remain efficient.
"Good water infrastructure is important not only for the population, but also for the environment. That's why I'm delighted with the considerable financial assistance granted to Les Coteaux today. It will enable the municipality to continue its efforts to create a healthy and sustainable living environment for generations to come," added Ms Picard.
