The Ville de L'Île-Perrot officially inaugurated its aquatic complex last Saturday, with over a hundred bathers enjoying the new facilities.

Speaking inside the complex, the mayor of L'Île-Perrot, Pierre Séguin, praised the success of the project, which is a source of pride for the town: "Since we took office, we have efficiently completed the idea, construction and opening phases. It's the fruit of teamwork. We've created a great space to live in, and I'm happy to see you enjoying it."

Frozen treats, gifts and music

On site, users were able to listen to ambient music played by DJs, in addition to receiving a beach towel bearing the city's image and free ice cream treats. The complex is a testament to the new wind blowing through the city: "It's a social hub where young and old, as well as water sports enthusiasts, can cool off, have fun and even achieve something," says the mayor.

"This project is motivated by one of our priorities: to modernize municipal infrastructures with a view to sustainable development, by offering citizens facilities that are ever more adapted, accessible and safe," he added.

A unique concept

With its beach, pool, swimming pool, water games and whirlpool, the facility's architectural concept represents current best practices, as well as being unique in Vaudreuil-Soulanges, according to city officials.

Swimming hours are from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.. Access is free for residents of L'Île-Perrot, upon presentation of a valid photo ID. Rates for non-residents are detailed on the Town's website.

Serving future generations

During his speech, Mr. Séguin had at his side the Chaise des générations, a creation by Île-Perrot students reminding members of the municipal council that every decision they make must take future generations into account: "The promising project we are highlighting today invites the next generation to flourish on Île-Perrot and, who knows, perhaps make it their home in the future," said the mayor.
