Saturdays on July 8, 15, 22 and 29
New workshops take place in Parc du Canal Soulanges
On July 8, 15, 22 and 29, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., a series of off-site workshops will take place Parc du canal Soulanges in the company of artists Sonia Haberstich, Valérie Langlais and Adèle Reeves.
Resulting from a call for applications in the spring of 2023, the project involves hosting artists for days of outdoor artistic creation.
Every Saturday in July, the artists imagine, create and set up a placottoir space, a new meeting place for citizens and visitors to Parc du canal Soulanges, right in front of the new premises at 2 chemin du canal, in Pointe-des-Cascades.
The artists invite the public to come and watch them create, and discuss their artistic approach, mediums of expression and inspirations.
Visitors are also invited to take part in short creative workshops on the theme of motifs in all kinds of techniques: printing, prints, etchings and more.
- The final Saturday will be dedicated to the final assembly of the site.
- Participation is free of charge, and any materials required for visitor participation are provided.
- In the event of rain, the workshops will be postponed until Sunday.
"What a great initiative! I encourage people to meet the artists and take part in the cultural clinics. It's a golden opportunity to discover their talent, understand the creative process and observe the various techniques used.
"New passions may be born from these special days," concludes Marilyne Picard, MNA for Soulanges, on behalf of Andrée Laforest, Minister of Municipal Affairs.
