Four people remain hospitalized
Tragedy in Saint-Zotique: two people still in critical condition
An adult and a child remain in critical condition five days after the collision on Highway 20 between Saint-Zotique and Rivière-Beaudette on Sunday, July 2.
The father and one of the children are in stable condition, and no longer feared for their lives. At least, this is what Sûreté du Québec spokesman Éric Cadotte has confirmed.
At around 10:45 a.m., a heavy truck was unable to brake in time, and collided violently with the vehicle in which a family of five was travelling. Sadly, a 13-year-old girl lost her life.
Possible charges?
At the time of writing, it was impossible to know whether charges would be laid in the case. "A reconstructionist and an investigator are on site to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this event. At this stage of the investigation, we cannot confirm whether charges will be laid," says Cadotte.
The investigation is still ongoing.
