Faced with numerous reports of excessive speeding in our neighborhoods, members of the City of Coteau-du-Lac's Traffic and Road Safety Committee have decided to take action to raise awareness among motorists and encourage good driving.

Over the next few days, signs entitled "Ralentir, un choix naturel," will be posted throughout the city. Thanks to the collaboration of the Sûreté du Québec, a series of interventions is planned throughout the summer in sectors deemed the most sensitive.

"The city wants to promote respect for all road users. Children, senior citizens, cyclists and pedestrians are numerous in our neighborhoods, and the municipal organization wants them to be safe. Reducing speed can only lead to more harmonious cohabitation in our neighbourhoods," said the city in a press release.

The committee

The committee is composed of city employees, councillors, representatives of the Sûreté du Québec and citizens. Its mission is to analyze road safety issues and make recommendations to the municipal council to reduce the problems observed on the territory.
