The Centre Multisports André-Chagnon in Vaudreuil-Dorion is closed for the rest of the day and all day tomorrow because of damage and flooding, according to a recent post on social media.

"The centre will be closed tonight, tomorrow all day/evening for sure, until further notice. Due to torrential rains we have a lot of damage inside," according to the post.

A severe thunderstorm with strong winds, torrential rain, lightning and thunder swept through the region within the past hour.

There are also 24 power outages in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region at this time affecting 2,012 customers in the following municipalities:

- Hudson: 813 customers; 

- Les Cèdres: 17 customers;

- Pointe-des-Cascades: 6 customers;

- Saint-Lazare: 98 customers;

- Vaudreuil-Dorion: 431 customers.
