Vaudreuil-Soulanges Ecocentres
Special cardboard box collection next week

Par John Jantak, Journaliste
With moving day fast approaching this weekend, the MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges said its 23 municipalities will hold a special collection of cardboard boxes from July 3 to 7.
The collection in each municipality will take place on the same day as the regular collection of recyclable materials.
Boxes can be dismantled and stacked together either by putting them into a single box or bundling them together with a rope or transparent tape and placing them next to the recycle bin.
To facilitate collection, the maximum size of dismantled boxes should be no larger than one square metre.
Recycling for a second life
Since moving is often synonymous with major housework, people are reminded they can dispose of many items and materials at one of the four ecocenters in the region.
This will allow items to be recycled, recovered or disposed of in an environmentally-friendly way instead of winding up in a landfill.
Furniture, clothing, appliances and many other products can also be reused. Instead throwing away bulky items, why not repair or donate them?

Cooling appliance disposal
Many people leave their old refrigerators and other cooling appliances at the curb when they move, a practice that has no place in 2023, according to Go Recycle.
Cooling appliances containing halocarbons are accepted at the ecocentres located in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Rigaud and Saint-Zotique.
Ecocentre network
Citizens of the 23 municipalities within the MRC Vaudreuil-Soulanges can also bring recyclable items directly to their nearest Ecocentre. To maximize efficiency, residents should accumulate items and sort them by category.
Only cars or pick-up trucks - including those with standard trailers for manual loading/unloading - are authorized on site. Larger vehicles, including those used for industrial, commercial, institutional or agricultural activities are prohibited.
The Ecocentre network is open this Saturday, July 1. For a list of materials accepted and more information, visit www.tricycle-mrcvs.ca or call 450-455-5434.
