Vaudreuil-Dorion unveiled its summer program for Parc Le 405 which will take place from July 3 to August 27.

The ever-popular program and venue will deliver lots of memorable moments filled with relaxation, laughter, fun and discovery on its enchanting site along Vaudreuil Bay.

This year's program will be held three days each week, from Wednesday to Friday. Several major themes are returning including improv on Wednesdays, Mon premier 405 and Just for Laughs on Thursdays, and  thematic events and an open-air outdoor cinema on Fridays.

The ICI Improv League will hold competitions each Wednesday.  The spotlight each Thursday will be on comedic artists from all genres as they take the stage along with up-and-coming humorists for Mon premier 405, in collaboration with Just for Laughs.

Four special events with shows and entertainment and two film presentations on July 14 and August 4 will also take place on Friday evenings. The themes include Rockabilly Night, July 7; a tribute to Elton John, July 21; Latin Night, August 11; and Drag Queen/Karaoke Night, August 25.

Mon premier 405

There will be seven performances throughout the summer each Thursday starting at 7 p.m., during the first part of the Just for Laughs comedy show. This year's audition process was open to artists throughout the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region.

"The response to the first edition of Mon premier 405 last year was so great that by the end of end of the festival, requests to perform for the 2023 season were already pouring in," said Catherine Boyer,  Head of the city's Sports and Recreation Division.

"We received 32 applications, all of them from high-calibre performers which did not make the task easy for the selection committee to select the finalists," Boyer added.

The committee picked the performers based on their quality, originality and how well their acts correspond with the interests of the attendees who will be at the venue.

The line-up  of this year's musical artists are:

  • Ayoub Drissi (vocals and folk-pop guitar) and dance troupe Bubble from Studio de danse 118 - July 6;
  • The March Blues Project (Blues rock) – July 13;
  • Old Soul (Rock band) - July 20;
  • Josh Adams (vocals and guitar) - July 27;
  • Tommy Be (vocals and guitar) - August 3;
  • Paolo Stante (Blues rock trio) - August 10
  • Alex Normand and Sam Théroux (vocals and guitar duo) - August 24

Just for Laughs

Three up-and-coming comedians will take turns at the microphone to entertain the audience on Thursdays starting at 8:15 p.m.

Some of the big names slated to appear include: Charles Pellerin, Pascale Marineau, Alphé Gagné, Antoni Rémillard, Louis T and Eddy King. Simon Delisle will get the ball rolling on July 6.

La Grande Tablée

Facilities for La Grande Tablée unfortunately were submerged in water and the wrap-around table was damaged during the flood this year. Spots, however, can be reserved. Picnic tables will be installed while the table is repaired around mid-July.

Citizens will be able to enjoy a meal with family and friends in the spot dedicated to La Grande Tablée. Only one three-hour reservation per address per month is allowed and a fee will be charged for cancellations without notice.

The first reservation period will begin June 12 at 9 a.m. for the period between July 3 and August 27. The second reservation period will begin  August 14 at 9 a.m. for the period between August 28 and September 24.

Each spot will have a barbecue, propane fireplace, transport trolley, Bluetooth speakers, plates and utensils.

Food trucks and bar

The site will be open from 5:00 p.m. each Wednesday to Friday, with bar service from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Please note that alcohol can be brought onsite only if it is consumed while eating. Food trucks will also be available on July 7, July 21, August 11 and August 25.

From July 3 to August 27 citizens will be able to borrow outdoor and lawn games at the park by presenting a citizen card.

The welcome kiosk will be open from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday to Tuesday and from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday.

After August 27, equipment rentals will be available on Saturdays and Sundays only, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., from August 28 to September 24.

All activities are free. The program for Le 405 is available online on the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion website.
