As floodwaters continue to recede throughout the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region, the City of Rigaud provided an update regarding the situation in the municipality today.

The traffic lights in the area of Chemin du Bas-de-la Rivière have been removed to allow road strength tests to be conducted. The city is advising motorists to be cautious and travel slowly along the roadway.

The water level is now negligible on both Rue Létourneau and Rue des Roseaux in the Chemin de la Pointe au sable area, although there is still some water on Rue des Roseaux.

The end of the roadway on Chemin de la Pointe-Séguin is still underwater and both Chemin Pointe-à-la-Raquette and Chemin Sauvé are still submerged and impassable.

Collection of residual materials

Regular garbage collection will continue when possible. Garbage collection was suspended on Chemin Pointe-à-la-Raquette and Rue Josée because of flood waters. The next garbage collection is on Friday, May 26.

For citizens who could not dispose of their bulky items, the next collection will be on June 2.

Information published by the city is available on its website in the Spring Freshet section which can be accessed at the following link:
