Pincourt will have its pumptrack
This Tuesday, the Town of Pincourt and the Recreation and Community Services team launched the construction of the P-Town Plaza, a new infrastructure that will take place in the Olympic Park and will include a skatepark and a pumptrack.
This new development, for which the estimated cost is $430,000, will be designed by the professionals at Tessier Récréo-Parc, in collaboration with local experts in the extreme sports scene, including Daniel Vezina.
Daniel Vezina was present at the groundbreaking ceremony, as was Tessier Récréo-Parc representative Stéphane Malenfant.
The future site will offer a wide variety of 17 modules, such as quarter-pipes, rails, ramps and jumps for users of all levels.
The pumptrack will be perfectly adapted for cyclists, rollers and skateboarders, offering a fluid and dynamic course.
"This new facility will provide Pincourt residents with a unique opportunity to practice any sport that rolls safely (skateboard, rollerblading, BMX, etc.). We had an infrastructure issue dedicated to the youth of Pincourt, and I believe that this new place will make many happy", mentioned the mayor of Pincourt, Claude Comeau.
The P-Town Plaza development plan also takes into account the following factors: noise mitigation measures; vegetation and sound barriers to limit the impact on neighbouring residences; and no trees cut down to minimize the environmental impact. Plans and images of P-Town Plaza will follow shortly.
The official opening of P-Town Plaza is planned for the summer of 2023.
