Flood waters from the Lake of Two Mountains have surrounded homes and covered large sections of Rue de la Baie and several other roads in Vaudreuil-sur-la-Lac.

The other roads affected are des Ormes, des Érables, du Chêne, de la Croix, du Casino and homes on des Rigolets between de la Croix and du Casino.

The town is providing sandbags to help minimize the amount of water seeping into homes and are available only for residents who are affected by the flooding at this time.

Homeowners are advised to keep a constant eye on their sump pumps and backflow valves to make sure they are working properly for the duration of the flood.

Town officials are reassuring their residents that all the necessary preventive and security measures are being applied to keep their residents safe.

While the water level in the lake has risen significantly within the past week to reach 24.29 cubic meters according to data provided to the town, it has now stabilized and is expected to drop slowly over the next few days.
