The 2023 edition of the Hudson Film Festival will take place in April

From humble beginnings, and thanks to a local passion for film, the Hudson Film Festival has grown to become well known. It is now known as The Big little Canadian Film Festival, organized by the Hudson Film Society. The 8th edition in 2023 will take place on April 12th.

As usual, the festival's main screen is located at the old train station, now known as the Hudson Village Theatre, as well as the city's cultural center. 

Hudson Film Society and festival president Clint Ward explains, "The Toronto Film Festival is helping us with the selection of films and the connections with distributors, scheduling, etc."

A total of 13 films will be presented. These will be screened in their original version, with English subtitles when not in English.

The film that will launch the series is Run Woman Run, a comedy-drama by director Zoe Leigh Hopkins.

Wednesday, April 12:

  • at 2 p.m. Run Woman Run 100 min.  
  • 4:15 pm Ever Deadly 90 min
  • 5:30 pm Buffy Sainte Marie: Carry It On 90 min 

Thursday, April 13 :

  • at 2 p.m. The Swearing Jar 113 min 
  • 4:30 p.m. Gabor 101 min.  
  • 8:00 pm Hallelujah: Leonard Cohen, a Journey, a Song 113 min 

Friday, April 14

  • 4:00 pm Peace by Chocolate 96 min 
  • at 8 pm Viking 104 min  

Saturday, April 15 :

  • at 10 a.m. Falcon Lake 100 min  
  • at 1:30 pm Drinkwater 117 min  
  • at 4:30 pm North of Albany 90 min  
  • 8:00 pm Geographies of Solitude 103 min

Sunday, April 16:

at 2 p.m. I Like Movies 99 min

The full pass for access to the entire program is available for $75. The 6-film pass is $50.

Depending on availability, single tickets will go on sale in April.
