Barely recovered from the Christmas storm, our region will experience yet another dangerous weather event. Environment Canada has just issued a freezing rain weather warning for the Soulanges, Vaudreuil and Valleyfield sectors.

Ice accretion amounts of 10 to 15 mm are expected beginning Wednesday evening.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and extremely hazardous. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
