Independent MNA: Marie-Claude Nichols wants to reassure the community
A few days before the beginning of the parliamentary session, her first as an independent Member of the National Assembly, Marie-Claude Nichols reaffirms to the citizens of the riding of Vaudreuil her determination to represent them and to defend their interests.
"I live in our riding, I raised my children there and I have always been involved with the desire to improve the quality of life of the people of our region. I intend to pursue my mandate with the same passion as on my first day as a Member of Parliament. It is an honour to serve you and I will be worthy of your trust," said Marie-Claude Nichols.
Several concerned citizens have asked the MNA in the last few days about the impact of her change of status.
Ms. Nichols wishes to reassure her constituents, "my independent status will not affect my work. Citizens can always come to the office to discuss a personal or professional problem. The support for volunteerism for organizations will not be cut and the liaison work that I do between the actors of the region and the various departments will be the same. As in my previous mandates, I remain the Member of the National Assembly for all citizens, regardless of their political allegiance. As for the issues I spoke about during the election campaign, they remain front and center," she said.
For the next four years, the MNA for Vaudreuil is committed, once again, to effectively advance the issues that are important to the people of the region.
She would also like to thank the many people who have shown their support in recent weeks, including many citizens of the riding. She now wishes to put the recent events behind her to focus on the real work to be done, that of the people of her region.
