The Maison de la Famille de Vaudreuil-Soulanges team is calling on the entire population to contribute to its socio-financing campaign to raise the funds needed to build the new Maison de la Famille in Saint-Zotique.

Estimated at $1.2 million, the new home will be located at 1008, rue Principale, where the Maison des optimistes stood until recently. The Municipality of Saint-Zotique has signed a 99-year emphyteutic lease with the organization.

This lease will entitle the Maison de la Famille to use the land for the construction of their new premises, while paying a symbolic rent of $1.

A 45-day campaign

The socio-financing campaign, which will run until May 15, is based on the online platform, La Ruche, enabling all those who wish to support the cause and contribute to the financing.

“This will be a 45-day fundraising campaign on the Web. People will be able to buy our offers, which range from $25 to $1,000, so there really is something for everyone. It will also be possible to make a donation of any amount,” explained La Maison general manager France Pomminville.

At a press conference to launch the campaign, Claude DeBellefeuille, Member of Parliament for Salaberry-Suroît, was named honorary president.

“For the socio-financing campaign, it was important for us to allow people who may not have the means, to be able to contribute to the campaign that will enable the groundbreaking of the Maison de la famille in Saint-Zotique. All donations are welcome, whether small, medium or large. We're currently in the process of finalizing our business plan, and the rest will be announced by the Maison team. It's a pleasure for me to take the time to promote this Maison de la famille, which is about to rise from the ground in Saint-Zotique. Finally, we'll be able to say that the whole of Vaudreuil and Soulanges will receive equitable local services for the development of children and families."

She adds: “Take an interest in the socio-financing campaign on the La Ruche platform, it's a unique opportunity for citizens and businesses to contribute to their future family home”.

The start of a new tradition

In conjunction with its socio-financing campaign, MFVS will be holding its first lobster benefit dinner on May 16 at the Summerlea Golf Club.

This fundraising dinner marks a significant step towards realizing the organization's aspirations of actively involving local citizens and partners in its fundraising efforts.

Honorary president of the socio-financing campaign, Claude DeBellefeuille, Member of Parliament for Salaberry-Suroît, took the opportunity to invite the region's business community, as well as local residents, to take part in the event.

“The dinner is an opportunity for business people to have a good time with their team members, while supporting a great cause that will make a difference to families in the region. Why not combine business with pleasure?I'm hoping for a full house. A number of business people have already confirmed their attendance, but tickets are still available."

Tickets for the first edition of the Maison de la Famille de Vaudreuil-Soulanges lobster benefit dinner are on sale for $200.
