Council meetings return to Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac
Under provisional administration since May 31, the Municipality of Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac will resume its council meetings on September 6.
Due to the lack of quorum following the resignations of Councillors David Yee, Mei-Lin Yee and Lilianne Besner, and the prolonged absence of Councillor Martine André, the Commission municipale du Québec (CMQ) took over the administration of the Municipality last May.
As a result, the CMQ was mandated to adopt the municipal council's resolutions so that the municipality could function and municipal services could be provided to citizens.
New elected officials at the table
Unless something changes in the next few hours, three new councillors could be elected by acclamation to sit at the council table on September 6.
Three citizens stood as candidates in the by-election. Since, at the time of publication, none of them had an opponent, all indications are that Najah Zaoude (position 1), Jean Barrette (position 2) and Ian Dellner (position 3) will sit at the municipal council table on September 6.
That said, any citizen wishing to submit their candidacy can do so until 4:30pm this Friday, September 1.
