The Town of Pincourt kicked off work this Tuesday on two new basketball courts at Olympic Park. No official opening date has yet been announced.

The work, entrusted to DDL Excavation at a cost of $722,750.39, all taxes included, will comprise a standard-size basketball court, a practice court and a scoreboard. The area will be fenced, lit and accessible to people with reduced mobility. Each court will have separate entrances and a painted surface.

There will also be seating areas for the public and landscaping to complete the site. As for the graffiti wall, it will be relocated in the park, close to the future mounds.

"I'm delighted to see this project taking shape, offering young people the opportunity to play basketball, close to our sports facilities adjacent to the Omni-Centre. This project represents an investment in the health and well-being of our young people," says Claude Comeau, Mayor of Pincourt.

Last September, the Town of Pincourt inaugurated its new youth sports infrastructure, the Plaza P-Town, which includes a pumptrack track. Two pickelball courts were also inaugurated in 2023.
