Néomédia in-house survey
Do you believe in community fridges?
The rising cost of living and, by necessity, the rising cost of food in Quebec in recent months have prompted many households to change their consumption habits to avoid food waste.
Among the alternatives offered by community organizations to families on more limited incomes are food fridges. These are strategically placed to provide interested citizens with a variety of foodstuffs, ready for consumption. The principle? Take if you're in need, and give if you can.
To date, there are community fridges in the region at the following locations:
- Maison des jeunes Les Cèdres (145 rue Valade);
- Municipalité des Coteaux (65, route 338);
- Maison des jeunes de Rigaud (96, rue Saint-Jean-Baptiste Est);
- Municipalité de Saint-Clet (615, route 201);
- La Source d'entraide (2252 chemin Sainte-Angélique, Saint-Lazare);
- Center d'action bénévole Soulanges (371, rue Sainte-Catherine, Saint-Polycarpe);
- Maison de la famille Vaudreuil-Soulanges (2210, rue Principale, Saint-Zotique);
- Carrefour jeunesse emploi Vaudreuil-Soulanges (400 boulevard Harwood, Vaudreuil-Dorion);
- Center d'action bénévole L'Actuel (88 rue Adèle, Vaudreuil-Dorion);
- Center prénatal et jeunes familles (640 A, rue Chicoine, Vaudreuil-Dorion).
The appearance of several community fridges in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region in recent weeks inspired Néomédia to ask this week's poll question: "Do you believe in the usefulness of community fridges? Do you believe in community fridges?
